Who we are

A full-service international law firm in Marbella — for 25 years.

Ilagoson was built on a deliberate constraint: legal advice for international clients in Spain should be delivered by people who genuinely work in your language, and by the same lawyer throughout your matter. The attorney who takes your first call is the one who attends the notary, files the tax return, and answers your follow-up question a year later.

Our clients are British, Northern European and German families buying property on the Costa del Sol; beneficiaries managing cross-border inheritances; business owners incorporating Spanish companies; and expats navigating immigration and residency. We are active members of the British–Spanish Law Association (BSLA), the Hispanic–German Jurists Association (DSJV-AHAJ), and ADVOC — an international network of independent law firms — because our clients' lives rarely fit within a single jurisdiction.

One lawyer, end to end

The same lawyer handles your matter from first consultation to final completion. No file-passing, no junior substitutes, no “someone will be in touch”.

Genuinely trilingual

English, Spanish and German — every day, not occasionally. Contracts and filings drafted in your language, not translated.

25 years of file-handling

A quarter-century acting for international clients on the Costa del Sol. We have seen the edge cases, the legal changes, and the cross-border complications — and we resolve them quietly.

International network

Through BSLA, ADVOC and DSJV-AHAJ we have trusted colleagues in the UK, Germany and across Europe — so cross-border matters are co-ordinated, not abandoned at the border.

Guides & insights

Spanish law & property, in plain English

Practical guides from our lawyers on the matters our international clients ask about most — from buying property to managing a cross-border inheritance.

Property

Buying property in Spain as a non-resident: ten things your lawyer must check

Urban licence, community-of-owners debts, cadastral value, NIE, money routing — what due diligence for a foreign buyer actually looks like, and where the gaps typically appear.

Inheritance

Why a Spanish will saves your heirs months of cross-border probate

How a short, properly drafted Spanish will prevents your estate from getting stuck in both Spanish and UK/German probate at the same time — and cuts the inheritance tax liability significantly.

Tax

Non-resident property tax in Spain: what you owe and when

IRNR on imputed rent, capital gains on a future sale, wealth tax thresholds in Andalusia, and the 720 declaration — the key obligations every non-resident property owner needs to understand.
